What this service is, and is not

Perspectives Coaching provides coaching: structured, present-focused, educational work on relational patterns and decisions, delivered by Aaron Platt. It is not psychotherapy, counseling, medical care, or any licensed healthcare service, in any jurisdiction. No diagnosis is made, no mental-health condition is treated, and nothing here is a substitute for licensed care. "Trained as a psychotherapist" describes my education and background; the service you purchase is coaching.

Fitness for the work, and referral

Coaching presumes functioning adults working on patterns, not conditions. I screen for fit before we begin and stay alert throughout; if I conclude that what you need is licensed care, medical, psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, or safety-related, I will tell you promptly, help you find it, and pause or end the coaching work where appropriate, with unused fees refunded pro rata. You agree to engage honestly with that screening.

Not a crisis service

This practice is not available for emergencies and does not provide crisis response. If you or anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 (US). For mental-health crisis, call or text 988. For domestic violence, call 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788.

Confidentiality, honestly framed

I hold what you tell me in confidence as a matter of contract and practice: sessions are not recorded, notes are minimal and encrypted, and nothing is shared or used for marketing. Because coaching is not licensed healthcare, no legal privilege attaches to our communications, and confidentiality yields where the law compels disclosure or where I believe someone is in immediate danger. In couples work, I do not keep secrets for one partner against the other as a standing arrangement; how disclosures are handled is agreed explicitly at the start.

Fees, cancellation, refunds

Fees are as published on how it works: $200 per session, $2,400 for the twelve-session arc (or three installments of $800), $1,100 for the five-session clarity engagement. Sessions moved or cancelled with 48 hours' notice cost nothing; inside 48 hours the session is charged, with one no-questions grace per engagement. If an engagement ends early, from either side, unused sessions are refunded pro rata, with delivered sessions charged at the single-session rate. Invoices are due before the stage they cover.

Your part

You are responsible for your own decisions and actions. Coaching offers structure, perception, and honest counsel; it does not make choices for you, and outcomes, including whether a relationship continues, are not guaranteed and are not promised. You agree to provide truthful information relevant to fit and safety.

The website

Site content, including the framework and essays, is provided for general information and is not advice for your specific situation, and no coaching relationship exists until we have agreed to one in writing. The writing on this site is mine; you're welcome to quote it with attribution and a link, and not to republish it wholesale.

Liability and law

To the extent permitted by law, liability for the coaching services is limited to the fees you paid for them, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. These terms are governed by the law of the country where the practice is established, without displacing consumer protections that mandatorily apply where you live. Disputes go first to a good-faith conversation, which is, after all, the business I am in.
