Couples coaching, online

A free twenty-minute call, before you commit to anything.

Every engagement I take starts the same way: a short written note from you, then a free twenty-minute video call. The call exists so you can hear how I’d approach your situation before any money changes hands, and so I can tell you honestly whether I’m the right person for it. About one conversation in four, I’m not, and I say so.

What happens on the call

You talk first. I’ll ask what the last version of the fight looked like, what you’ve already tried, and what each of you believes the problem is, because those two answers rarely match. Then I’ll tell you what I hear: which pattern I think you’re in, what working on it would look like, and how long that usually takes. I’ll also quote the fee, plainly, so you know the full cost before you decide anything. Why I quote it live instead of printing it on a page is its own piece: what couples coaching costs.

What you’ll know by the end

Three things. Whether your situation is coaching work at all, or something a licensed therapist should hold instead. Whether my way of working, described in online couples coaching, fits how the two of you actually operate. And what it would cost, in real numbers, with nothing hidden for later. If the answer to any of those is no, you’ll have lost twenty minutes and gained a straight answer, which is more than most of this industry offers for free.

What the call is never

It isn’t a sales script, and it isn’t a free session in disguise. I won’t squeeze you, follow up six times, or manufacture urgency about your own marriage. You leave with a clear picture and my honest read. What you do with it is yours. The practical details of the work itself, scheduling, cancellations, all of it, are on how it works.

Why the note comes first

Writing a few paragraphs makes you sort the story before we talk, and it lets me arrive having actually thought about you two instead of meeting you cold. It also filters out the merely curious, which protects the calendar for couples who mean it. You send the note through a short private form, and contact details only come at the last step.

The usual questions

Common questions about the free consultation

Is the consultation really free? What’s the catch?

Really free, and the catch is only that it’s twenty minutes, not a session. It’s a mutual fit check: you hear my read and the fee, I hear the situation, and we each decide. No card, no obligation, no follow-up campaign if you pass.

Do we both need to be on the call?

No. Plenty of first calls are one partner testing the water. If the work goes ahead, your partner can join from the start or later, and some people do the whole thing solo. One of you being ready is enough for the call.

What should we prepare?

Nothing formal. It helps to have the most recent fight fresh in mind, because “what happened last Tuesday” tells me more than a summary of ten years. If you’ve done counseling before, be ready to say what it helped with and where it stalled.

Will you tell us if this isn’t a fit?

Yes, directly. If your situation needs a licensed therapist, I’ll say so and point you toward one. If it’s coaching work but I’m the wrong style for you, I’ll say that too. The call is where I earn the word honest, or don’t.

How do we book it?

Send a short private note about what’s going on. I read it myself and reply within two business days with times for the call. Everything runs on video, with couples in all US states.
